Our Classless Immoral Society

Many would wonder what I could possibly contribute to a discussion on morality and ethics. I listen to atonal music, view pornography, and am an atheist. One would think I would be an amoral libertine, somebody who is uncivil and unruly. I enjoy chaotic paintings and consider myself to be a postmodernist. I also consider myself classy, so classy in fact, that I surpass the immense amounts of classless people I see in my day to day activities.

That might sound like a rather pompous statement to make, but I feel like I have the right to say it (I wonder if having an inflated ego is classy?). It isn’t hard to be classier than the majority of people in our ethically bankrupt culture. Our entire society is built around control of others, dictating what they can and cannot do. All the while, we build an emotional wall, one in which no empathy can penetrate. We isolate ourselves into groups, and battle each other trying to serve our own interests (cough democracy cough).

If you find homosexuality disgusting, then we shouldn’t let them get married. If we find carrying firearms to be undesirable, then we shouldn’t allow it. If we find drug users lifestyles to be deplorable, we must outlaw drug use. All of these regulations, plus many others, are simply classless and immature.

Since when has it become mature to try to control others lives? And this is through force no less, as if you try to carry an unregistered firearm for example, you could be imprisoned and even killed. And who pays the peoples salaries, who come and kidnap you and throw you in a cage for violating these laws? The police. And how do the police get their funding? Well, they steal it through taxation.

To put this into perspective, it would be the equivalent of two small children playing in a sandbox. Sam, an obese 9 year old American kid, discovers his playmate Percivel has fashioned himself a rather fancy sandcastle. Sam is outraged, as he considers this sandbox to be his territory, and his property. Sam is a schoolyard bully, and he claims monopolistic privilege over the sandbox. Percivel’s sandcastle simply does not meet Sam’s structural standards.

Sam walks up to Percivel and demands he deconstructs his sandcastle. Percivel refuses, and Sam has no recourse, as both are rather fat American 9 year old kids, and Sam could not beat up Percivel without help. So Sam goes to a group of smaller schoolkids, and steals their lollipops under threat of atomic wedgie. Sam then goes to his friend Martin, who is hitting balls at the batting cage. Sam pays Martin with the lollipops, and tells Martin to rough up Percivel for him if he fails to comply with the new sandcastle building standards. Sam then returns, and proceeds to ask Percivel to deconstruct his sandcastle once more. This time, Sam is accompanied by a bat wielding Martin, and Percivel obliges.

In this scenario, Sam represents the state, the smaller schoolkids represent the taxpayers, Martin represents the police, and Percivel represents a citizen who just wants to live their god damn life in peace (that was sort of a shitty allegory).
So I put it in terms of schoolkids, because that’s what we are dealing with here. A bunch of little schoolkids fighting it out on a playground. And this is actually an alarmingly accurate representation of how our society functions. A bunch of immature kids, fighting over a sandbox, trying to tell people what kind of sandcastles they can build, what kind of plants they can smoke, and what kind of sexual relationships they can have.

In conclusion, you might call me classless because I listen to atonal music and watch porn, but I think taking your clothes off on camera is a bit more classy than killing people for money (anybody else noticing all the soldiers complaining about the federal government spending freeze? I thought they were fighting for freedom and the American way or some bullshit?), or arresting people for smoking a plant. And I reject quite a bit of your sick, classless so called “morals” that are used to justify democracy, victimless crimes and crimes against the state.

John Gatto, Public Education Prisons

I read this amazing article by John Gatto, where he lays out the TRUE school curriculum. He really hits on a lot of the things I noticed about the school system. How much should an education cost? I could go to the local library, and read a book and learn quite a bit in an afternoon for virtually nothing. If this is true, how come it costs so much money to fund schools and public education?

It is because the bulk of the costs just go to funding the building of the prison itself, and maintaining the corrupt institution that beats children into pulps. Whenever I think of the public education system, I think of those wormy bastards that roam the halls, preventing kids from going to the bathroom without special permission from the teachers. I guess releasing the contents of your bladder isn’t a human right anymore.

And these people are so self righteous, crushing any dissent in the classroom. If I raise my hand to challenge the teachers views, I would probably be forced to shuttup before the bell rang, or told to quiet down because I might confuse the other students as to the correct answers for the test.

At one point in my life, I wanted to be a high school history teacher. I recently decided I didn’t want to be a prison guard, teaching mostly erroneous bullcrap interpreted through some biased lens of history (they don’t even bother informing you that there are multiple schools of historical interpretation, I am sure the teachers don’t even know that, the damn sheep).

Anyways, I could ramble on about this topic for a while, but instead I urge you to read John Gatto’s short article that basically outlines what kids really learn in a classroom. He was nominated best teacher of New York State in 91. I have to agree with the nomination.

American Neoconservative Jingoism/Imperialism

Whenever I hear the terms “anti-American” being tossed around, I have to cringe, especially when it it used as a blanket rebuttal against criticism of the “War on Terrorism” and criticism of our troops. The American right often criticizes the left for using racism, sexism and homophobia as debate killing buzzwords. Well, perhaps “anti-American” is exactly the same fucking thing?

Lets figure out what it actually means to be an American. Lets look at our founding, where slavery and denial of woman’s rights was tolerated. Is that pro-American? How about Native American genocide, is that pro-American? What about imperialistic foreign policy, is that pro-American?

For every negative I just listed, there could be positives as well. America has, after all, one of the most radical pro-liberty traditions in the history of civilization. So really, what does it mean to be pro-American or anti-American? It depends completely on what you consider “American”, what time frame you are using as a litmus test for “Americanism”, and what bias you choose to take.

This leads us into the problem with the American right, and more broadly, the pro-war American left/right. I think the whole pro-war position is built on a myriad of erroneous and fallacious beliefs, held by the vast majority of the ignorant American public. These beliefs can be, in my opinion, contributed to neoconservative jingoism, total nihilistic apathy, and sheer fucking stupidity.

The typical pro-war argument coming from the neoconservative camp, is one of “self-defense”, an overall condemnation of the “terrorist” tactics the militant Muslims used during September 11th, and a cultural condemnation of Islam. The terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centers on September 11th embodies the pro-war argument of the neoconservatives, it is the “straw that broke the camels back”, and the catalyst for a “defensive” war against the “evil” Muslim extremists.

Reasons that are typically cited for why the Muslims hate us, is that they are jealous of American’s vast wealth. They also hate us because we do not live under Shari’ah law, and a vast majority of American’s do not accept Allah as our invisible manbitch. Essentially, neoconservatives believe that Muslims are emo pussies. There could be no other reason why the Muslims hate us, because we are the shining city on the hill, we never do wrong, and we totally help the oppressed (unless they are communists, then we blow them the fuck up).

Basically, the typical neoconservative argument is a steaming pile of shit. It is the quintessential argument made as a result of sitting on your couch on a Sunday afternoon, picking lint out of your bellybutton while you pray to Jesus that Dale Earnhardt can squeeze out another win (R.I.P. “The Intimidator”).

Muslims don’t hate us because they are jealous, or because their religion supposedly tells them to. They hate us because of America’s rich tradition of imperialism, and subjugating them to some of the most brutal dictatorships in recent history.

Probably the classic example of American imperialism in the Middle East would be the installation of the Shah, a brutal dictator as a result of the 1953 Iranian coup d’état. American and British covert operatives falsified a popular revolution in order to overthrow the then democratically elected Iranian president Mohammad Mosaddegh. The Shah ruled over Iran for 26 years as a totalitarian dictator committing innumerable atrocities against the Iranian people. He was eventually ousted and replaced by the Ayatollah’s, who now maintain a theocratic rule based on anti-Western sentiment. Yeah, we basically made Iran what it is today. Bringing up Iran typically will end debate with anybody that claims America is not an imperialist Empire faster than Dale Earnhardt hit the wall, but in case you aren’t convinced:

The U.S. military gave economic assistance to the Mubarak dictatorship in Egypt, with annual payments in the 1.3 Billion dollar range. Mubarak pocketed a lot of the aid money, estimates range from 1 bn to 70 bn! We armed the regime and even sold teargas and crowd control ordinance, that were ultimately used against the Egyptian protesters in the recent democratic uprising. We sold Egypt advanced military hardware, like F-16 multirole fighters and MA1A main battle tanks.

The reason for the United States support of the Mubarak dictatorship was to influence their attitude towards the zionist state of Israel, which is also an imperialistic entity, being birthed directly out of Western imperialism, forming a nation on top of stolen land from the Palestinian people. This is while the Mubarak regime committed atrocities against their own people, in the form of brutal torture and censorship.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. The American Empire operates 737 military bases worldwide, a massive net of political coercion and exploitation no doubt.

And so it seems the neoconservative jingoist is remiss in explaining how America is actually “the good guys”.

Now that we see why the Muslims hate us (and for good fucking reason I might add), lets look at the horrible mass murder being committed in the Middle East by American forces in the “War on Terrorism”.

September 11th resulted in the deaths of roughly 3,000 American civilians. The attack itself was carried out by 19 Al Qaeda hijackers, and Osama Bin Laden was implicated as the mastermind behind the attacks. This seemed like it should be open and shut, the 19 criminals are already dead, it is time to incarcerate Osama Bin Laden for his crimes. The Taliban actually offered to hand him over, but Bush decided he wanted to mass murder brown people instead. So they continued the bombing campaign in Afghanistan, which soon lead to the “War on Terrorism”.

The Iraq War was soon to follow, based on the pretense of possible terrorism as a result of the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs). I personally consider the Iraq war a part of the larger “War on Terrorism”, which was initiated by the September 11th attacks.

The “War on Terrorism” has resulted in over 900,000 deaths. The acts of 20 individuals, and the death of 3,000 American civilians, has resulted in the deaths of 900,000 people, over 870,000 of them being Afghani and Iraqi civilians. That’s some pretty fucking perverted justice, 3,000 of our civilians are worth 870,000 of theirs? Are you fucking me? This is genocide, there is no other term to describe it. To deny this is genocide, is like denying the holocaust. The American Empire is responsible for the mass genocide of the civilians of these two nations, as are the taxpayers who fund it.

Fuck blind nationalism, fuck blind patriotism, and fuck jingoism. If that offends you, then I am more offended that you think 3,000 civilian deaths is worth genocidal retribution. Call me anti-American, I am pretty sure even the sexist and racist founding fathers would agree with me on this one. Blind nationalistic jingoism is pure fucking evil, and that is what this country has become, pure fucking evil.

Islamophobia

So I watched this video the other day of what appears to be an assortment of proto-fascist hate groups protesting a bunch of Ebil Muslim community organizers trying to raise money for charity. Ah ok, just a bunch of Tea Party types spouting the normal corporatist bullshit. Thats what I thought anyway, before I actually watched the video.

So I start the video, and soon realize this isn’t some corporate circle jerk, it is actually an anti-Muslim hate demonstration. I shit brix when I started hearing some of the chants these dolts were spewing. One of the opening chants to the video is some chick screaming “Go back home” at the top of her lungs. I was just waiting for some Muslim in the back to raise their hand and be like “Cleveland?”. Like, where the fuck do you think these people are from? Why don’t you whip out your family tree and show me your Native American heritage? Oh wait, you’re a crusty white redneck? Deported back to Europe bitch!

Then, it gets even more lawlzy when the crowd erupts with chants of “USA! USA”, only to be closely followed by some abhorrent vuvuzela-eske shit. I just picture Cletus and Rusty in the back still hung over from their Milwakee’s Beast belting out some hardcore zela riffs. I think I could make out some Freebird. Boss.

But just when I think it couldn’t get any more absurd, Congresswoman Deborah Pauly steps up. Oh wow, an actual elected official, she wouldn’t actually show her bigoted racist colors right? Do’h!

“I know quite a few Marines who would be very happy to help these terrorists to an early meeting in paradise”. – Deborah Pauly

Atleast she prefaced it with:

“I don’t even care if you think im crazy anymore”.

I am happy you don’t care if I think you are crazy Ms. Pauly.

The video goes on, and gets even more absurd. Highlights include some bitch in the crowd saying “One nation under God, not Allah” (lolololololol), and Representative Ed Royce saying “multiculturalism is paralyzing America”. No, actually I think it is rampant stupidity that is paralyzing America sir.

I am an atheist, and I can tell you that if a group of atheists protested like this outside a Christain church, these very same neocons would have to fucking dredge the sand out of their vaginas. And if a group of anti-war supporters protested soldiers funerals, their fucking heads would explode.

But no, I just don’t get it right? Islam and Shari’ah law are evil, because the Koran is full of human rights abuses.

Orly? In the Bible, the Christain God flooded the entire fucking world. The Christain God might even be a bigger prick than Allah for all I know, its all a bunch of childrens tales, except these childrens tales have horrible stories of mass slaughter, slavery and rape. If you want to criticize Islam or Shari’ah law, why don’t you equally criticize Christianity and the Ten Commandments. After all, if you touch yourself and think about your neighbors wife, you are sentenced to burn forever.

I think it is pretty safe to say that neither of the deities portrayed in the Bible or the Koran gave a flying fuck about human rights. Thats why religious fundamentalists, both Christain and Islamic, who actually take this shit at face value are seen as batfuck nuts. Thats why religious fundamentalism is typically shunned by society, and more “progressive” sects of Christianity and Islam have been created. They try to interpret the texts in a way that isn’t literal (because that would be insane), but rather full of metaphor, so they can skirt all of the blatant human rights abuses that god condoned in the bible.

Then you get the obnoxious double standard. Oh, that guy bombed an abortion clinic? What a crazy bastard, it must be an isolated incident. Oh, that Muslim just car bombed a security checkpoint? ALL MUSLIMS ARE TERRORISTS!

Why don’t you get your thumb out of your ass you fartwanker. Religious fundamentalists exist in every religion. The only difference between Christianity and Islam is that the Islamic ones make the news, and there is no context. We live in a largely Christain society, so whenever a lunatic Christain makes the news, we know from experience not all Christains are like that. This context is absent when it comes to Muslims, because most of us have never lived in the Middle East. Plus, the Muslim “terrorists” are fighting to preserve their homeland from Western imperialism. Of course there will be more incidents in the news of Islamic fundamentalists blowing shit up.

In conclusion, I would just like to say that if you want to criticize religion, go right ahead. Just make sure your own crappy religion dosn’t suck just as hard before you do it. And if you are criticizing a religion, please seperate it from the people who practice it. There is no need to be harrassing young children like the ones shown in the video. Oh, and advocating mass migrations of people out of the country, as well as violence is pretty lame also.
